About Us ...

Thanks for taking the time to check out our "About Us" page. We are Rob and Leta Blanton, owners and founders of Elite Custom Knives.

Rob says:
I have been a knife enthusiast for most of my life. When I was a cub scout, my Granddad gave me my first Case Knife to take on a camping trip. My taste in knives has changed a bit over the years but my enthusiasm hasn't. I was an avid collector of production knives for quite some time and I wanted to turn my hobby into something more. Leta and I started selling at local knife shows in the Kentucky/Tennessee area. It was at these knife shows that I began to take an interest in custom knives. I loved the look of the Damascus and the natural handle materials. I decided then to order my first custom auto. After a nine month wait I finally received it and I knew there was no turning back.

Leta says:
I never had much interest in production knives. When Rob started collecting the handmade customs, it was hard for me to ignore the beauty and craftsmanship of these awesome pieces. The gold inlay, set stones and engraving really appealed to me. They were like works of art! I wanted to try my hand at engraving, and I went to school last year to learn. I found it takes tons of practice, but someday I hope to be able to engrave a knife just for you! One of my favorite things is attending the cutlery shows, and meeting other knife enthusiasts.
